WHAT IS A TEC WEEKEND?
A TEC weekend is a 3 day weekend of spiritual renewal.  It follows the same general format as Via de Cristo, Cursillo, Emmaus Walk, and others, but is designed for teens and young adults.

WHERE DOES TEC TAKE PLACE? “Come and See TEC” is held at Glenwood Lutheran Church, 2545 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio. Glenwood is located in downtown Toledo next to the Art Museum. Click here for a map.

WHY IS IT CALLED "COME AND SEE" TEC?
The name of this Toledo-area TEC comes from the following scripture: "Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus, son of Joseph from Nazareth.” Nathanael said to Philip, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, “Come and see!” John 1:45-46

HOW OFTEN DOES A TEC WEEKEND TAKE PLACE?
Twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.  The timing of the Spring weekend varies due to Easter, but is usually in March or April.  The Fall weekend is usually held in November, before Thanksgiving.

WHEN DOES TEC BEGIN?
TEC begins at 9:00 AM on Friday and concludes around 6:00 PM on Sunday.

DO I NEED TO BE THERE ALL THREE DAYS?
Yes. TEC is not a workshop; it is a three-day journey in faith that you travel together with your brothers and sisters in Christ.   If you are still in school, it will require that you miss Friday.  One of the Pastors can write an excuse for you.

WHO SHOULD COME TO A TEC WEEKEND?
Anyone between the ages of 16-21 who wish to deepen their faith.  We also encourage youth leaders to attend and then come back to work at future weekends.

CAN ONLY LUTHERANS COME TO TEC?
All Christians are welcome to TEC. However, participants should be aware that the approach in TEC follows a Lutheran understanding of our faith.

IS THERE A COST?
Yes, $40.00. However, SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE!

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR TEC?
Fill out the registration on the "Forms" page of this website, have your pastor sign it, and then send it to the noted address.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A TEC WEEKEND?
Throughout the weekend, there are many low-key talks given by teens, young adults, and pastors.  Each talk focuses on an area of faith, as relates to that person's real life.  After each talk, there is time for small group discussion and reflection.  As participants journey through the weekend, they also experience the worship life of our faith - confession, absolution, prayer, singing, the Scriptures, offering, and the Lord’s Supper.  And of course, there is food!

WHAT IS A TECite?
A TECite is someone who is attending TEC for the first time.

WHAT IS MANNA?
Our Manna team is the team of people that cooks for the weekend.

WHAT IS WHEAT?
John 12:24 tells us that "unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit."  Wheat is anything that encourages us to give up the things that are weighing us down, so that we can have abundant life promised to us by Jesus.
